Would you rather have wine or a workout? For one man, the answer is both. Certified oenophile Tom Gilbey spiced up his run in the London marathon on Sunday by blind taste-testing a glass of wine at every mile, a feat he documented on his TikTok. “It’s London marathon day, we’re starting with a red,” Gilbey greets viewers in his video. “We’re doing 26 wines, one per mile. Let’s go!” Gilbey diligently stopped along each mile to sample each glass, guessing the date, origin, and type of wine. He managed to identify 7 of the glasses he drank completely correct, with another 14 “mostly right” and 4 completely wrong. And although he had more than two dozen different types of wine in his system by the time he crossed the finish line, Gilbey was all smiles at the end. “This man drank 26 different wines & still managed a sub 5 marathon. let that sink in,” one awed user commented.
